Islam is Arabic term which means submission to the will of God. Islam is a way of life revolving around the principles of faith, charity, prayer, fasting and pilgrimage (physically and spiritually). It is a way of cultivating ones personal relationship with the Creator or ALLAH.

There are two aspects of Islam, the outward and the inward. In the outward aspect (Shariat) of Islam, the emphasis is on the observance of law, in the inward (Tariqat) aspect the emphasis is on seeking the Truth. The Quran is the book of the whole community, yet at the same time, and above all, it is the book of a minority, the book of a spiritual elect. It achieves this double aspect in different ways.

Quran is the noble and Holy Book of the Islamic religion. Muslims believe in Quran as the word of God (Allah), revealed by an angel Prophet Muhammad as the final word from God (Allah). According to the teaching of the Islamic Religion (Teachings that Allah taught Muhammad through Quran and other forms of revelation) that the commandments of God (Allah) in Quran supersede all previous commandments that were revealed in previous revelations such as Torah and Bible. Jesus in Islam is respected and considered as one of the greatest of God's messengers to mankind.

To be a Muslim, one should:

1. Believe that the Holy Quran is the literal word of God, revealed by Him.
2. Believe that the Day of Judgment (the Day of Resurrection) is true and will come, as God promised in the Quran.
3. Accept Islam as his or her religion.
4. Not worship anything nor anyone except God.

Good Muslims must be kind and helpful, especially to the poor. Islam Australia Incorporation is a non-profit organization (based in Perth) dedicated to share all about Islam with non-Muslims and to provide social and spiritual services to new Muslims. We strive (to the best of our ability) to adhere to the true teachings of Islam at all times.
